Reception | 8:50am | 3:20pm |
Our Reception children have their own dedicated exit and entrance. This is by the gate onto their outdoor learning space next to the main school car park. There is clear signage to direct you to the correct entrance and exit. The gate opens at 8:45am.
Unless children are attending our breakfast club or after school club, children can only be left from 8:45am with a member of school teaching staff or office staff and must be collected on time at the end of the school day, at 3:20pm. Breakfast club starts at 7:45am. Children cannot be left before this time.
Scooters and Bikes
Children will only be allowed to bring their scooter or bike to school if they are wearing a safety helmet. Please understand that this is to ensure the safety of our children.
For health and safety reasons our main gates are locked when our children are arriving and leaving Nursery at the following times:
In order to allow access at all times for emergency vehicles and deliveries, visitors must never park in front of the main school gates. There is a significant amount of FREE parking at the Recreation Ground.
In September the following transition arrangements are in place to help settle your child into the routines of Reception:
Thursday 5th September and Friday 6th September.
8:45-8:55am until 12:00pm (No lunch on these days).
Children should be picked up at 12 o’clock from the Reception gate.
Monday 9th September and Tuesday 10th September.
8:45-8:55am until 1:00pm (Children will have lunch at school on these days)
Children should be picked up at 1pm from the Reception gate.
From Wednesday 11th September
Children will be in school full time – 8:45-8:55am until 3.10pm.
From this date normal school times will apply.
Reception children can begin to use the Haswell Bus for their journey to and from school once they begin to attend school full-time. For most children this will be Wednesday 11th September 2024.
We appreciate that it may be difficult for you to leave your child initially and perhaps for your child to leave you. All children are different and will settle in different ways. A quick definite goodbye is often best but you know your child and can settle them best in your own way. If you need help, please ask.
All children do settle happily, but some can take longer than others. Children who settle initially, may become unsettled after a week or two. Usually there is a simple explanation, but if you know of reasons for this, you may wish to talk to staff to enable us to resolve any problems together quickly.
If your child is upset it is important to reassure your child that you will be back soon to see what they have been doing and explain what you will be doing while they are at school.
