Wrap Around Care
Primary Schools are now required to publish alongside their Performance information a list of their childcare provision, making it easier for parents to know what is available.
Shotton Primary School offers a full range of childcare provision which we have listed below.
Our wraparound care programme is designed to provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children outside of regular school hours. Whether you need to drop off your child early in the morning or pick them up later in the day, our caring and experienced staff will be there to ensure that they are well taken care of.
At our Breakfast and After School Club, your child will have access to a range of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, and games. They will also have the opportunity to socialise with other children and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment.
The school operates a Breakfast Club, starting at 7.45 a.m. until the start of school day. All children from reception age to year 6 are welcome. The club takes place in the KS1 Hall via Key Stage 1 Entrance A. The cost is £2 per day.
Children will be given a breakfast of bagels, toast, porridge oats, cornflakes, crisp rice, shreddies, or cheerios with milk. Diluted fresh apple and orange juice or water is available to drink.
Once they have had their breakfast, they will have the opportunity to play games, colour in or relax listening to a story.
After school Club
After school club is open until 4.30pm for all children from reception age. Children are collected by the club staff from their class and taken to the session which is based in the Annex. A snack is provided which is included in the cost. The cost is £6 per session.
After their snack, children have the opportunity to play games or relax watching TV. During the wet weather they have the use of the school hall for playing games and in the summer months they will play on the school field.
Our wrap around care is available every day the school is open.
Parents can have peace of mind knowing their children are in safe hands. All of the staff, who also work as lunchtime supervisors, will be familiar to your child. They make a huge effort to make sure that each child feels comfortable and settled, having fun and an opportunity to relax at the start and end of a busy day.
Staff are fully trained in safeguarding, paediatric first aid and food hygiene, and are all DBS checked. They are also qualified and experienced in working with children in primary school environments.
The provision is an extension of the school day. With this in mind, it has been designed to run smoothly, whilst reflecting the school’s outstanding quality.
Mrs Lawson, Mrs Linn, Mrs Patterson and Mrs Hunter run our wrap around care
