Our Scheme of Work

We began following a Spanish scheme of work in September 2023 called Language Magnet which delivers learning in a sequential and progressive manner.

As such it will take a number of years for all 12 modules to be delivered throughout school and across Key Stage 2.

To ensure progression in teaching and learning, where possible children are taught and learn Spanish in separate, distinct year groups.

What Does Each Module Cover?

The topic of each module is as follows:

Module 1	Greetings, Numbers 0-12, Colours, My Name and Age and My Country and My Language.
Module 2	My Everyday Objects, Days of the Week, Numbers 13-20 and Time (Hours).
Module 3	My Family, My Brothers and Sisters, My Pets and My Family and My Life.
Module 4	The Alphabet, Numbers 21-40, Time, Months and The Weather and Seasons.
Module 5	My Schoolbag, My Classroom, My Friends and My Opinions.
Module 6	My House/My Flat, My Transport and My Spanish World.
Module 7	Numbers 41-60, Describing Myself, My Clothes and My School Uniform.
Module 8	My Bedroom, My Body, My Health and My Food and Drink.
Module 9	The Shops, My Town, My Park and Describing Places and Things.
Module 10	Numbers 61-100, Describing Others, My Sports and My Hobbies and Interests.
Module 11	My School Subjects, My Teachers, My School Life and My Secondary School.
Module 12	My Holidays (This Year), My Holidays (Last Year) and My Life Project.
