Computing has a significant part to play in terms of being able to offer all pupils, including those with SEN, a broad and balanced curriculum with deep links to mathematics, science and design technology.
Computing is relevant to our children’s needs and experiences, as it provides a tool to help them become knowledgeable, safe, responsible citizens in a digital world. We will teach, support and enable children to become competent and confident users of information and communication technology.
It is our intent to teach our children computational thinking that they can use and experience outside of school, in order to directly enhance their cultural capital while providing essential tools preparing them for future employment opportunities.
The core of computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information technology and digital literacy. Children will create programs, systems and a range of content.
It is of vital importance that we provide rich and engaging learning experiences to foster their creativity, curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world.
