Phoenix Fire Project

Our Year 6 children are involved in a very exciting and important creative project with County Durham Fire Service called Phoenix Fire Champions. The project is partly funded by Believe Housing and is about raising the awareness of our children and community of the dangers, costs and emotional impact of arson.

It is also about enabling our children to feel that they can make a difference. Cheryl, who is leading the project, has arranged for fire crews from Peterlee Fire Station and Woodie the fire dog to come into school, so that the children can hear first hand about the important  and dangerous work that fire fighters face each and every day and what they can do to help.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming parents into school to share the children's work at the end of the project, when we will be able to see how creative our wonderful children are.
