Admission Arrangements

Please bear in mind that due to COVID19 and the paramount need to keep everyone safe we cannot necessarily offer face to face visits to school for prospective parents. If you are interested in sending your child to our school, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will help as much as we can to answer any questions that you may have.

Starting Secondary School - September 2022

If you child is now in Year 6 you will need to apply for a secondary school place for September. The following table provides really important dates and deadlines in terms of when you should apply.

Applications are done online. If you require help please do not hesitate to contact us.

It is vitally important that you do not miss the deadlines as it is highly likely that you will then not secure a secondary school place for your child at the school of your choice.

The majority of our children transfer to either The Academy at Shotton Hall or Wellfield School. They have a lot of information on their websites. You will find links to their websites below the table of important dates.

Applying for a Primary School Place

If your child will have their 5th birthday between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023, you will need to apply for a school place for September through the Local Authority. The following table gives important dates and deadlines. It is really important that you do not miss these deadlines which are set by the Local Authority. If you miss the deadline there is no guarantee that your child will be given a school place at the school of your choice.

If you need help applying for a place at our school, please do not hesitate to contact us. Applications can be completed online.

We would be delighted if you were to choose our school. The attached leaflet will provide you with important information about our Reception classes to help you make this important decision.

The Local Authority sets our admission number. This is reviewed on an annual basis and is then agreed by the Governing Body. Our admission number is 60.

We would welcome the opportunity to show you round our wonderful school even before you decide to send your child to us.

Choosing the right school for your child is an extremely important decision and one that as parents and carers you should feel confident in. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.

If you feel that you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

The policies set out how applications are considered and what selection criteria we have and apply.

The Local Authority considers all applications for a place at our school from Reception to Year 6, including those when a child transfers midway through a year.

The Local Authority will allocate places and all schools are subject to the same admissions arrangements and selection criteria.

The Local Authority will also deal with admissions when places are oversubscribed.

The following guide will tell you how apply for a place at our school and will explain the admission arrangements through the Local Authority.
