A huge well done to Lacey, Tyler and Bradley in Year 3. We are all very proud of the super improvements in your spelling. You should be very proud that you are able to use apostrophes so well in tricky words.

Mrs Hudson's literacy group have just been telling me their wonderful SPAG practice test results. As we explained the children deserve to feel confident and proud..... Well done all of you. Keep up the fantastic progress.

A Wonderful Day for Good News...
Today has been wonderful. Children and staff have been eager to show me the progress that the children are making.
Milly and Iesha have been division superstars. They are now able to use arrays to divide a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. They are clearly spending lots of time learning their multiplication facts. Well done girls I was mightily impressed.
Kacie has been producing some fantastic independent writing in reception, with plenty of tricky words.
Dylan one of our future astronomers has thoroughly enjoyed learning out of this world facts about Mars at Miss McKnight's dinnertime Stargazers club. He is able to compare life on Mars with life on Earth. Then together we excitedly looked at some 3d photos of Mars with the fantastic 3d glasses that Dylan expertly made.
Garith's attitude is very impressive. His independent work is being tackled really well and he is thoroughly enjoying the challenges given to him in his learning. Super handwriting Garith. Miss Lamb was certainly beaming with pride when you both came to show me your work.

Miss Lamb has just brought Jayden to see me to show his fantastic reading skills work about George's Marvellous Medicine'. Just ask Jayden and he will be able to tell you why things happen to George and his family.
Sunderland Harriers Superstar
I was delighted to hear that Jack in Year 6 has been proving what sporting talents we all know that he has. Last weekend Jack competed with other youngsters from the region. Jack came 22nd overall out of nearly 100 runners and came 2nd in his age group. Congratulations Jack, just remember success only comes through hard work.
Super Writing in Reception
Lucas has been busy all by himself writing a fantastic caption underneath his picture of the police car that came and visited the reception classes yesterday. Mrs Lowden and I are very proud of his developing writing skills. Well done Lucas.
Well done to Joe and Imogen who have been learning to read. Both Imogen and Joe took home their first reading books this week and all the staff in nursery and their families are very proud of them. Well done!

I am delighted that Autumn has worked so hard on her handwriting this week. Mrs Butler and I are so impressed by the obvious improvements.
Well done to Joshua too for his fantastic attitude to reading. He is reading nearly every day at home and is making fantastic progress.

Layton has just shown me his fantastic letter to Santa Claus. I am so proud that he has been able to show us how much his writing is improving.
Our fantastic house captains and vice captains represented the school in a torch relay organised by Hewlett Packard. We feel very privileged to have been invited to take part and the children had an excellent time. Well done!
Congratulations to Lauren in Year 6 who recently competed in a cheerleading competition and qualified for the finals in January which will be held in Blackpool. Good luck Lauren!
